For years, I have been fascinated by the intersection of economics and technology—how new innovations disrupt markets, challenge institutions, and redefine the very nature of value exchange. Cryptocurrency is one of the most profound economic revolutions of our time. It represents a fundamental shift in how we think about money, governance, and financial autonomy. But despite its growing importance, crypto-economics remains an underexplored field in academic research and policy discussions.
This is why I decided to organize the Onchain Economy Conference in Warsaw, Poland.
Blockchain and cryptocurrencies have gone from niche concepts to mainstream financial instruments. However, academia and policymakers are still playing catch-up. Many discussions remain either overly technical—dominated by developers and cryptographers—or too speculative, driven by market hype rather than sound economic principles. The goal of this conference is to bring together researchers, economists, regulators, and industry leaders to engage in rigorous, evidence-based discussions on Web3, tokenomics, crypto markets, compliance, corporate governance, and the broader implications of decentralization.
We are at a turning point. Governments are refining their regulatory stances, institutional investors are entering the crypto space, and AI is beginning to shape blockchain’s next evolution. At the same time, economic crises, inflation, and geopolitical instability are pushing more people toward decentralized financial alternatives. It is no longer a question of whether crypto and blockchain will be part of the global financial system—it’s a question of how they will evolve and what role they will play. The decisions made now will define the future of finance for decades to come.
Warsaw is an ideal setting for this discussion. As a city at the crossroads of Europe, it has become a hub for finance, innovation, and blockchain activity. Its strong academic institutions, growing tech ecosystem, and strategic location make it the perfect place to host an international conversation on the future of crypto-economics.
This conference is just the beginning. My vision is to establish Onchain Economy as an annual meeting point for scholars and industry experts who want to shape the future of crypto in a serious, meaningful way. I invite you to join us—whether you are a researcher, policymaker, investor, or entrepreneur—because the future of finance is being written right now. Let’s make sure we get it right.
See you in Warsaw!
